Rope Grippers
The industry-renowned Hollister-Whitney Rope Gripper® is an essential safety device that efficiently grips the elevator suspension ropes to stop an elevator in the event of a mechanical or electrical failure. Thanks to its unique design and simple installation, the Rope Gripper can be quickly installed to save passenger lives, prevents injury and provide valuable peace of mind.
Hydraulic Rope Grippers
The Rope Gripper is the industry’s best way to prevent unintended cab movement. It is designed to prevent over speeding and unintended movement should the doors remain open. If either of those conditions occur, the Rope Gripper gently but firmly clamps the ropes to stop motion in a way that does not damage the rope or cause undue stress to the machine or sheaves. Protection is provided even during slipping traction.
The Rope Gripper is easily installed and aligned. Only four wires are needed to connect the Rope Gripper to the controller. The device is mechanically triggered and hydraulically reset.
A standard 27 in. hose is included. Hoses of up to 96 in. are in stock and longer lengths are available. An auxiliary interface panel (p/n FMG1) is available for legacy control systems.

Linear Rope Grippers
