Roller Guide Shoes from H-W are “Load Conscious!” The unique tension system causes the rollers to “feel” or “sense” the rail and adjust for loads near the balanced point and for rail misalignment, while a strong tension takes overs to prevent excessive movement as heavier loads are placed off center. Rollers will never leave the rail with this “guide” and the outstanding tension system allows ultra long life of the roller wheels. For higher capacities, the ultimate choice is the Hollister-Whitney four-wheel guides. Four wheels control more of the side-to-side movement.

Hollister-Whitney offers two types of swivel guide shoes: Model 382 for passenger and Class A freight elevators and Model 383 for counterweights. Both have low-friction nylon liners and are competitively priced.
Hollister-Whitney offers four models of rigid guide shoes for passenger, freight and counterweight applications. Depending on the model, the liner may be cast iron, nylon or without liner. Model 371 mounts on a car sling with 5 in. stiles without the need for shoe plates. Models 375 and 376 will mount on a standard Hollister-Whitney counterweight frame without the need for shoe plates (shoe plates may needed for other frames). Model 381 will require additional shoe plates.

Hollister-Whitney wedge type shackles are one-piece construction specifically designed for elevators and are available in 18″, 24″, 30″, and 36″ overall lengths for 3/8″, 1/2″, and 5/8″ ropes. Equalizer springs are normally supplied for counterweight shackles only. Wedge shackles conform to New York City Housing Authority specifications and have Material and Equipment Acceptance (MEA) approval from the City of New York Department of Buildings.
